TT: Testing Time-Nintendo Switch OLED

0

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…again. Most people are probably sitting there wondering how it has been another 12 months since the last time the sleigh bells went jingling and in this final week before the big day you probably have some things still left to get.

Frowned Upon has you covered with this brief overview and review, which is in leymans terms so anyone can know what is going on, of the Nintendo Switch OLED edition. Enjoy.

Nintendo Switch OLED

The Nintendo Switch OLED, the latest addition to the Switch family, offers some notable improvements over its predecessors but falls short in certain areas. While the 7-inch OLED display delivers stunning visuals and enhanced speakers, the console’s lack of 4K output and unchanged internal specifications leave much to be desired.

On the positive side, the OLED model boasts twice the storage capacity of the original Switch and Switch Lite, with a total of 64GB. Additionally, the redesigned kickstand and LAN port on the dock add convenience for tabletop and online play. I can’t tell you how much better the kickstand is to the original Neon edition.

However, the absence of 4K output in TV mode is a significant drawback, especially considering the console’s premium price tag of £309.99-ish. For players primarily using handheld or tabletop mode, the OLED model offers a worthwhile upgrade. But for those who primarily play in TV mode, the upgrade may not justify the cost.
