Review Time-No Kings Allowed

Frowned Upon has a truly exciting edition of Review Time today, with No Kings Allowed bursting on the metalcore and deathcore scene in a huge way.

Being based across Belgium and the Netherlands, No Kings Allowed have shot to prominence in a relatively short time. They really have donned their masks and only go by their colours like Red, Green and Gold. They have truly surpassed being a studio project and became an established force in the metal community.

No Kings Allowed, has been a band since November 2023 when they released their first song ‘The Will Of My God’.

As a personal huge fan of their music, look and style, Frowned Upon is pleased to have spoken with Gold who performs the bands fantastic screams.

What influences do you or No Kings Allowed take?

“For me personally as a singer my biggest influences are Sven from Aborted and Coffin Feeder. And the man, coach and friend who has taught me and help me develop my skills and helped me grow and evolve: Rafal ‘Rasta’ Piotrowski from Decapitated. As you hear in the songs and in my singing style some similarities with both of them.”

What made you choose to pursue this career?

“It was never planned for me to become a singer or even a musician. I was studying for security and to maybe become a cop. I remember it happened when i was sitting in the back of a friends’ car on the way to a show we were going to see when I was about 16 or so. I was screaming along with some songs they put up and they said, “Dang dude, that sounds really good” and one point that I should consider going down the path of singer instead of playing guitar (because i was at the time also learning guitar). And from that moment on i felt it was destiny and focussed fully on my singing and putting everything i had in it so i could make it happen! And as you can see, i have!”

What would you say has been the highlight for No Kings Allowed so far?

“I think I can speak for all of us that in such a short time. the amount of love and the amazing fans we’ve gained!”

How has No Kings Allowed got to this stage so quickly?

“We as a band have done all this ourselves, without the help of any label or whatever and to be growing this quick withthe support of our loyal fans is something we are super proud of, and we 100% see as a highlight!”

What plans do the band have going forward?

“With No Kings Allowed a lot of cool things are going to happen! New single, new album, some vocal covers! And the shows and tours! Keep your eyes peeled!”
