New look Playstation 5 slim, 10 oct, 2023, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
As has been the case with consoles for years, dating back to the Playstation 1. Sony has recently announced the introduction of the Playstation 5 slim.
This new slim model comes as either a disc drive or no disc drive version and now boasts a 1TB storage drive rather than the 825GB the chunkier consoles have.
There is no change to any of the internal hardware of the devices.
The slim version has 30% volume than the original console and the weight is also reduced by 18% and 24% depending on which model you get.
This new model is available in the US as of November 2023 with the models being released around the world in the following months.
This new slimline edition also spells the demise of the original PS5 model, as when stock runs out of that the slim model will be the only one you can buy.
