Time for something a bit more cheery than usual. Today marks the release of the bubbly and light song ‘Chipped Pink Fingernails’ by a supremely talented artist called Erica Jean. For anyone who enjoys the sounds of Lily Allen or Norah Jones sprinkled with some glitter, this talented young artist will appeal to you.

For her debut single ‘Chipped Pink Fingernails’ sounds so polished that you couldn’t ask for a better song to be the first. Releasing on all streaming platforms on the 26th April 2024.

As we slowly drag ourselves into happier and better summer times this song has dropped at the right moment. The vocal style along with a constant catchy beat throughout lend this track to summer days out in the sun or on a road trip. The whole band brings a huge amount of energy to any performance.

The fusion of the vocals, saxophone, guitars and drums feels so natural and seemless. It has all merged together near perfectly. Being a fan for a while and having a bit of a deepdive I found a video from her YouTube. The video below is of Erica Jean playing ‘Cherry on Top’ at Marrs Bar, a true Worcester institution. A fantastic performance and well worth a look.

Isle of Wight voting

Erica Jean has also been shortlisted to play at the Isle of Wight Festival. This 19-year-old singer (I feel ancient) is sure to be one of the best artists to come out of Worcester for a long time.
